Carillon concert every Sunday afternoon
The Belfry of Sluis possesses a very large musical instrument: the carillon (or: the beiaard).
Every Sunday afternoon from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, city carillonneur Piet Hamelink (carillonneur of Axel and Sluis) plays the carillon of the only Belfry in the Netherlands. The carillon concert is best heard on the Groote Markt.

After completing a career in public administration (in which he was always heavily involved in music, among other things as an organist and choir conductor), he began a new musical study after returning to Zeeuws-Vlaanderen: the carillon. He studied at the Royal Carillon School in Mechelen, where he graduated with distinction in 2017.
